It is a common question to want to know where bicycles come from. There is a lot of confusion as manufacturers make up terms to confuse the customer into thinking the bikes are made in the US, however it is very rare (almost impossible) for a bicycle to be considered made in the US, let alone an electric bicycle.
Why are bicycles not made in the US?
Bicycles are not made in the US because there are few if any companies that make bicycle components in the United States. If you cannot source parts from the United States, then it is not possible to have a bicycle considered Made in the US :)
Made in the USA Classification
'Made in the USA' is a legal term with very specific terms regulated by the FTC. As far as we know, there are no electric bikes that carry this classification. Terms such as "built" do not have any legal meaning and allow companies to confuse customers.
If all bikes are made overseas, what makes you different?
There are a few reasons why our products are not like others on the market. First off we are integral to the design of our products. We have over a decade of experience in the automotive, aerospace, medical device, and consumer products industries. While bicycles look simple, they are very complex and there are many many crucial details to bicycle design.
Secondly, we inspect and package our products before we deliver them. Many companies have their products stored in distribution warehouses and never even see the item before it is delivered to the customer. We are able to significantly reduce our defect rate by inspecting each bike before it is sent to the customer.
We have a dedicated assembly area. We are fully capable of assembling, modifying, and customizing bikes. As the market changes we have the potential to transition more processes to our location within the USA.
We are not perfect, but we can solve your problem. Even though we do go the extra mile prior to shipping your bicycles, mistakes and problems can still occur. If this happens we will be here to support you and get the problem resolved and not run for the hills or file bankruptcy.
