If you have a problem with your electric bicycle it usually comes down to one of the following:
- A faulty component
- A bad connection between components
We must first look at the symptoms and then work backwards with a little troubleshooting to determine the cause. This step is extremely important, to determine the true cause and solve the problem as quickly as possible. Replacing components without first testing them will only delay the resolution and increase the cost of the repairs.
Troubleshooting Examples:
My LCD Turns Off While Riding
If the LCD is able to be powered on at first, and then turns off while riding, it could be caused by numerous components based on the diagram above:
- Bad LCD screen
- Bad connection between LCD screen & cables
- Bad cables
- Bad connection between cables & controller
- Bad controller
- Bad connection between controller & battery
- Bad battery
While this seems like a lot of potential items to check, our expertise will help us hone in on potential causes. In this example the most likely cause is a bad connection between the controller and battery.
If the problem is not caused by a bad connection between the battery and controller, the other items will have to be inspected.
Once the cause of the problem is determined, a resolution can be provided.
